Riga, Latvia, 5 September 2024 - An important event for strengthening economic ties between Latvia and Ukraine took place during the international exhibition Riga Food 2024 held in Riga. Representatives of the Chernihiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ukraine) were present at the exhibition, which opened new opportunities for the development of co-operation between the two countries.
One of the key moments of the programme was the meeting of Ukrainian and Latvian entrepreneurs in the format of business negotiations and presentations. The main goal of the event was to promote economic development, expansion of international trade and economic co-operation, establishment of new business contacts and exchange of information on business interests in different regions.
A significant role in the organisation of the meeting was played by Trade House Ukraina (Trade House Ukraine) under the leadership of Oleksandr Petrov, which gave the event additional significance and expanded the prospects for cooperation.
The culmination was a roundtable meeting organised by the Baltic Business Club HOTULANUS at the EXTRON BALTIC port in Riga. The participants discussed bilateral relations, trade and investment issues, paying special attention to Latvia's strategic role as a transport hub. Business leaders from Ukraine and Latvia reviewed existing challenges and opportunities for economic co-operation, and outlined steps for further cooperation.
Among the topics for discussion stood out:
- The strategic importance of the Baltic States as a transport hub;
- Effectiveness of warehouse outsourcing for entering new markets;
- Prospects and opportunities of the Baltic building materials market;
- Trends in the property market and its liquidity;
- Interactions in the food industry.
Riga Food 2024 reaffirmed its status as an important platform for international co-operation and innovation, attracting leading representatives of the food and allied industries.
