On 29 August 2024, a solemn event was held in the Museum of the history of Riga and navigation Hall of Columns to welcome children from the city of Vinnitsa, Ukraine. The meeting was organised by the HOTULANUS business club. The event was also attended by representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia.

The club's chairman, Alexander Emelianov, emphasised the importance of consolidating the efforts of Ukrainian and Latvian businesses to support children affected by military operations. For the second year in a row, the Hotulanus Business Club has been implementing charity programmes aimed at helping Ukrainian children. This year, Ukrainian companies also joined the initiative, which demonstrates the expansion of co-operation and strengthening of friendship between the nations.
Thanks to the support of the Business Club and other partners, community organisations Voluntieris.lv and Latvijas Armijas Veterānu Asociācija LAVA were able to organise EXPEDITION.CAMP summer camps for Ukrainian children this year.
During the reception, a member of the board of the non-profit organisation Voluntieris.lv Vitaliy Dubov, a veteran of international operations of the LR NAF, presented letters of thanks from the Department of Education of the Vinnytsia City Council to organisations and individuals who made a significant contribution to the children's camps. Some participants who supported the previous event were also presented with letters of thanks from the head of the Kramatorsk administration Andriy Pankov. Among those honoured were representatives of the HOTULANUS Business Club, companies such as SIA VIDES TEHNIKA, SIA KEFFA, SIA AP HOLDING, SIA AMBER CRANES, as well as employees of the Museum of the history of Riga and navigation. The participants of the event also expressed their gratitude to representatives of ministries, in particular Artūrs Graudins (Advisor to the State Minister for Rural Development, Agricultural Sector and Non-Governmental Organisations) and Reinis Uzulnieks (Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Welfare) for their active support in the implementation of this important initiative.
Mr Yemelyanov said he hoped that the children had enjoyed many joyful moments and positive emotions during their stay in Latvia. He also expressed admiration for the resilience and courage of the Ukrainian people, wishing peace and prosperity to all and a happy childhood to the children.
