On 6 September 2024, a meeting with a delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Chernigov region of Ukraine was held in Riga, where representatives of the HOTULANUS business club also took part. The meeting took place on the initiative of parliamentarian Oleg Burov, who discussed with Ukrainian businessmen the prospects of economic co-operation between Latvia and Ukraine.
During the conversation, both business issues and more personal topics related to life in Latvia and Ukraine in the current difficult conditions were raised. The focus was on deepening economic ties and opportunities for business co-operation between the two countries. The delegation from Chernihiv Oblast noted the important role of the economic front in maintaining stability in Ukraine, emphasising that partnership with international companies, including Latvian companies, is an important step towards recovery.
Oleg Burov organised a short tour of the Latvian Parliament building for the guests, which allowed the Ukrainian delegation to get acquainted with Latvian history and political system. The tour helped to strengthen mutual understanding and showed the importance of not only economic but also cultural ties between the countries.
Concluding the meeting, Oleg Burov wished the representatives of the Chernihiv Oblast Chamber of Commerce and Industry success in their further initiatives and expressed readiness to facilitate the establishment of new business contacts with Latvian entrepreneurs. He emphasised that the development of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as joint investment projects could become the basis for long-term cooperation between Latvia and Ukraine.
This meeting was an important step towards strengthening economic ties between the business communities of the two countries. Oleg Burov expressed confidence that the initiatives discussed would lead to new successful projects and mutually beneficial partnership.
